Furnace or fireplace?

September 17th, 2007

At all abundance of heating devices any of them does not possess so attractive force, as fire. How to choose fireplace for summer residence or country house?
FIREPLACE
Real fireplace will, certainly, decorate any country house. Besides it is capable to heat up a premise very quickly, but, as a rule, for a short while. Therefore it will not replace high-grade heating. Choosing concrete model of a fireplace, it is important to understand, what are the basic purposes of its installation.
1. You want to warm your house. Choose closed type of fireplace with fenny, and it is better, if it is intended for frequent use. Such type of fennies has a self-cleared fire-resistant glass and high EFFICIENCY (that will allow spending fire wood economically).
2. You have basically decorative purpose. Such fireplaces are also named as interior fireplaces. Of course, such fireplaces would look more effectively without glass. But don????????t forget, that open fire requires constant attention. Screens and lattices certainly protect from the “shot” piece of coal or log ineptly thrown by a children’s hand, but it is impossible to give a full guarantee. There are also other nuances. Speed of wood burning in the open fireplace is not practically adjusted, it cannot be adjusted on “slow” burning, so, if you are adjusted to support vigorous game of flame within all evening, it will be necessary for you to have solid reserves of dry fire wood.
3. Barbecue fireplace. Such fireplaces are, as a rule, opened and they are more often used for installation outside of a premise (they refer to as street fireplaces-grills). If you are going to prepare for shish kebabs in a usual fireplace, remember about forthcoming careful clearing a fenny????????s cavity.
