Interactive window

November 6th, 2007

Company Philips has presented model of a new window which is, first of all, intended for hotels. This novelty under name Daylight is rather interesting to that the user can change light exposure and color scale of a premise by touch, helping people to relax and restore forces, for example, on business trips, especially after distant flights. Daylight can change a visible landscape behind a window and at the same time to reduce light exposure of number of hotel, drawing various patterns on the window. In order to increase quantity of virtual vegetation (and, accordingly, in a room) the person should stand in front of the window and touch it by hand. Similar movement gives effect of opening jalousie.
Besides, the window can carry out function of an alarm clock. If to adjust it for certain time the pattern on glass will gradually “leave”, in regular intervals increasing quantity of light passed in a premise. Thus, by then, when the person needs to wake up, its organism will be prepared, as though the real sunrise has come. Notwithstanding that it is possible “to draw” patterns from leaves on the window, to add building or other objects, Daylight remains an ordinary window behind which the real landscape is seen. Except for visual effects it is possible to adjust sound - pleasant sounds of the nature.
It is also possible “to close” a window and to take advantage of the help of light therapeutic panel Alcove Light Therapy, which surrounds it. It can be shone by various colors, both weakening, and charging energy and after long flight, and after the difficult working day. Thus, hotels and their lodgers should not pay dearly for use of a novelty as such artificial illumination consumes not enough electricity, and additional color support turns out owing to fluorescence of concept elements.
