Curtains and drapery are one of basic elements of apartment decorations. Curtains can visually soften substantially lacks of windows or doors of a room - to extend or expand them. Checkered fabrics are quite comprehensible for curtains, covers, cloths, sofa pillows and to furniture upholstery. 
If under windows of the central heating battery, tulle and, in particular, curtains are made   of silk tulle, kapron, nylon, viscose, it is desirable to make them  only up to the window as contact to hot batteries will spoilt them.
