CURTAINS AND TAPESTRY MATERIALS

March 2nd, 2008

Curtains and drapery are one of basic elements of apartment decorations. Curtains can visually soften substantially lacks of windows or doors of a room - to extend or expand them. For example, in order to make the window look more widely, curtains and draperies may be located on both parties of the window aperture, grasping a part of a wall on the right or at the left. If you desire to narrow a window, you may attach curtains to eaves, corresponding to size of window aperture, and length of curtains almost should touch to the floor.
In room, where walls are colored or pasted over by wall-papers without figure, it is possible to for use fabrics with figure for draperies, and it is desirable, that the background or figure of fabric corresponded to painting of walls, it may be the same color with them, but of other shade. For those premises, which wall coverings have figure, it is recommended to use smooth fabrics.
If in room there are both draperies and decorative fabric, tulle should be without figures. If there are large things in the small room, it should be upholstered by smooth fabric.
Large figure of a fabric is admissible for draperies, curtains, upholsteries of furniture in greater and high rooms, and also just for decoration the large sizes.
Checkered fabrics are quite comprehensible for curtains, covers, cloths, sofa pillows and to furniture upholstery.
If under windows of the central heating battery, tulle and, in particular, curtains are made   of silk tulle, kapron, nylon, viscose, it is desirable to make them  only up to the window as contact to hot batteries will spoilt them.
