How to create a dominant for an interior?

February 18th, 2007

Metal in an interior
Metal cannot frighten the designer of interiors. Bronze handles, copper ceilings, steel kitchen utensils, even gold the sanitary technician often appear a dream of the customer. Hence, their accommodation becomes a problem of set interior designers.
The wrought iron products get the increasing popularity in a modern interior. Use of iron gives to a premise a special glamour - a combination of solidity and originality.????
Art wrouhgting does not only means fencings and window lattices. Smiths manage to make unique furniture from metal: coffee tables, supports for colors, products for a fireplace, stylish ladders and many other things. Masters-smiths seldom repeat the products in details and consequently with a huge share of probability; having got the wrought thing, you should not be afraid of meeting with precisely same one, but in other’s territory.
What is the difference between metal sculptures from any other accessory from the same material? The iron chimney lattice, door handles and wrought handrail only “support” the basic idea of an interior. A sculpture does on the contrary. It is center of the basic idea; it is a dominant of the interior. All other design can emphasize only a sculpture and submit to it. It, certainly, concerns to a sculpture from any material, whether it be a product from clay, a tree, plaster, clay, a marble, wax.
Art from iron stuff
Let’s stop on the new actual form of the modern art - a techno-art. This is an absolutely young direction. So, critics and judges recently have seriously become interested in the art-objects in such style.????
Sculptures are created from iron stuff. Any iron material will be accepted: spare parts of cars, metal subjects of house utensils, fragments of garden lattices, elements of building designs.
Advices
And finally we offer you some important advices, if you have decided to decorate the house with such original image. So:
1. If the sculpture is made to order, the customer should compare the size of the sculpture with the dimensions of the interior.
2. The sculpture requires some special attention from the owner. Establishing sculptural composition in your house, allocate to it in a place and organize the thought over additional illumination - and the money spent by you on art, will be paid back with the attention and guests???????? delight.
3. Each sculpture has its soul. Probably, it is a part of the master or owner????????s soul. Also consider that sculpture does not suffer indifference too. However, the person indifferent hardly will decide to change the image of the interior and a way of life of his life.

Modernist style

February 17th, 2007

Modernist style today is bright paints, courageous and modern design decisions. And in fact this style already practically reminds nothing those refined interiors that were fashionable on a boundary of 19-20 centuries.
But in due time the modernist style - style of the end of the nineteenth - the beginnings of the twentieth centuries - has offered absolutely new decision of registration of an interior. A basis of expressiveness became the smooth, flowing lines repeating perfect natural vegetative forms. The modernist style was most brightly expressed in architecture and design of country houses. All - from a lattice of fencing up to house utensils - is sustained in one stream. Characteristic reception is the combination of various invoices - a tree and a stone, a tile and plaster. In modern perusal the modernist style is a combination of typical forms and lines to the high technologies providing convenience and a coziness. A symbol of style is the flower of a cyclamen - a sign on a new life.
Stained-glass windows are the sign phenomenon of a modernist style and represent not abstract, but figurative glass painting.
The ceramic tile with geometrical or flower ornament is used for facing a floor and walls for facing a floor and walls. Wall-papers are also applied to registration of walls with figure (a vertical strip), decorative plaster, a combination of silk or a paint from above and wooden panels from below.
The wooden board or type-setting parquet with characteristic elements can be laid on a floor. The multilevel floor - with podiums and steps- is also popular.
Used fixtures have plafonds in the form of the revealed flower or a bud, ceiling fitting are often suspended on wrought skeleton which is decorated by iron leaves or black bindweed.
Color registration should be of soft muffled green, lilac, grey and sated gold tones. The big attention is given to accessories - beautiful trifles give completeness to the style decision of an interior.

Spiral stairlifts

February 16th, 2007

Screw, or spiral ladders are applied, when there is not enough place for straight ladders. Spiral staircases are less convenient for movement, than straight lines, but they allow saving the area of a premise and they are often applied as auxiliary to rise or descent in a ground floor. Basic feature screw relies in fastening steps around of a column, or racks. Steps of a spiral staircase are of cuneated forms and are being located around of this central rack. More often it is carried out in the form of a metal pipe. The narrow party of steps fastens to a rack, and wide more often - to rail posts or to walls. Stair riser, as a rule, is absent - the step fastens to a rack of a handrail by its wide end. In order that the leg would feel comfortably on the step, the central width should make not less than 200-250 mm and no more than 400 mm in its widest part.
Thus the form of a spiral staircase contrary to traditional representation about it can be not only round, but also square, octagonal etc.
Spiral staircases are more often made of metal or tree. So, it is possible to create an original interior and spiral staircases can be settled down not only at a bearing wall, but also in the center of the room.
Though spiral staircases take not so much place, they are used less often than rectilinear. The matter is that they are not so convenient. Descent on them demands attention and care. And consequently the preference is more often given to mid-flight analogue. Basically “screw” is used as an auxiliary variant (because the main smart ladder in the house is always mid-flight). Besides, screw stair lifts are used, when the aperture for installation of a ladder is too small. Though there are big spiral staircases - up to 3 meters in diameter. However, experts consider that in an aperture of such size it is more reasonable to choose a mid-flight ladder. It is defined with the whole complex of components. The ladder is designed under the concrete house. The optimality of its parameters also creates comfortableness of rises and descents. The height of a step can vary from 15 up to 19 centimeters, and height of a hand-rail should make 90-95 centimeters.????

The card of your business

February 15th, 2007

Office is the visit card of your business. And the first impression of clients and partners in you and your firm is formed with the visual information. That is why designers urgently recommend reflecting on external shape of office long before crossing to it. Competent design-project of working space is the sign not only of good reputation of firm, but also of its successful activity.
Standard two concepts of registration of office are considered as classical “closed” (cabinet system) and open space (the open space) concepts. Official bodies, as a rule, prefer the first variant. Long corridors, personal cabinets and various “departments” are being changed today into the “less private” style. The companies with the same lay-out???? which are renting premises in old buildings and not having means for scale reconstruction of internal space are compelled to be content. However, in psychologists???????? opinion, such system has indisputable “plus”: the classical office optimum corresponds to linearly-functional organizational structure of the company with traditional administrative verticals and ways of coordination.
The “open space” concept, on the contrary, is an embodiment of idea of democratic character of office which is organized in large premise, not divided by main walls. Thus the space in it, naturally, is structured by means of mobile and stationary office partitions necessary functional zones are created. Quite often zoning is carried out by furniture: for branching one workplace from another workplace by cases, curbstones, racks are used. From the management point of view, such office corresponds to modern forms of management more and allows using new ways of internal coordination and the communications. Besides, the absence of doors and corridors essentially saves the area of office.
However, quite often there are companies which choose the third - mixed - variant of the organization of working space, by combining the elements of the classical and open offices. For example, a huge room is divided into many small isolated from each other cabinets. An essential disadvantage of such decision is that the erected partitions cannot be taken and transferred simply, for change of a lay-out of a premise it is necessary to break everything and to start building from the very beginning.
Hi-tech and classicism though, certainly, there are the most different variants are considered as the styles of registration of offices are mostly widespread today. If the office belongs to the person of a creative profession, say, to the photographer or to the architect, the interior can be created with use of elements of a modernist style, art-decor and even ethno style. However, in this case the difference between office and studio-workshop is not visible. The head of the solid company would choose “expensive” interior, in which the high-quality materials would prevail: parquet from a tree of valuable breeds, the windows draped by curtains, sound graceful furniture.

Unusual premises in your house

February 14th, 2007

The easiest way to give to the house its unique character is to arrange in it any interesting corner corresponding to your hobbies.
Home museum
If you the fan of olden time or can not live without collecting (pictures, badges, coins or even more exotic exhibits), separate “territory” which will be entirely devoted to your hobby should be entered into the project of your future house. Moreover, everyone will agree, that it is absolutely useless to hide all these treasures in boxes of cases of your personal cabinet (and to touch them as the avaricious knight in conditions of the deepest secret). Room-museum, specially allocated for these purposes in your house will make your interior really special.????????
The walls can be equipped by fixture for pictures with an opportunity of change of an exposition that will allow you not only to show the collection, but also to arrange open exhibitions of familiar artists at home. For fine exhibits glass cases-show-windows with illumination will perfectly approach: in them you can collect, for example, a family collection of travel (souvenirs, cards of cities, exotic subjects of a life). In general, the subjects of home museum can be the diversified: from family tree, old family photos and up to relics. The museum can be combined: the daddy collects the ancient weapon, mum collects vases, daughter collects dolls, and the son collects telephone cards of different cities. And you can place all this with comfort in your spacious family museum in which in parallel will be like a cabinet or a room for visitors.
Home observatory
The house with a glazed tower-observatory looks original and unusual. You may use the spiral stair lift there, and it is possible to place one of nurseries or a cabinet in style hi-tech with magnificent kinds from windows it is possible to place one of nurseries or a cabinet in style hi-tech with magnificent kinds from windows in the most round premise, besides a telescope and other techniques. Honestly speaking, observing of stars is a very fascinating process, and in rare days of solar and lunar eclipses your house will become the most popular among your friends.
Concerning the technical party of business, it is possible to say that today there are firms which specialize on sale and installation of the equipment for home observatories (are and also engaged in their designing and construction). Certainly, in such observatories the advanced hardware is presented: the image is projected on a computer and the systems can be completely automated.

Interior changes as a key to success and good mood

February 13th, 2007

Sometimes you come home and understand that everything is so boring ??????? All this has bothered you so much that ??????? it would be desirable to???????change it!
How is it possible to change life at minimum money and energy expenses?
Let’s think together, what can be really done.
Let’s slowly bypass an apartment, thinking, which things and interior elements require repair or constructive changes. The main thing is to start changes! At the beginning we advice you to define which things really irritate you. Does the corner of this table constantly stir you? Do we hate that terrible coloring of the sofa? Or has the old mirror in bathing bothered us at all?
Let’s look around. We shall feel a “mood of the premise”. Do you feel comfortable here? If the answer is negative, then it is a high time to start doing something. Sometimes it happens so that the furniture accumulates so many places, that the apartment reminds a labyrinth with twisting passes. Or it is possible to loose mind from the endless set of the accumulated pictures-caskets-vases-knickknacks.
So, first of all, we collect our will in a fist, and start to get rid of all that unnecessary “interior rubbish”??????? You should throw away everything that causes unpleasant feelings, irritates you, and has completely bothered: necessarily - broken, slovenly looking and useless (absolutely “killed” sofa, ancient self-made shelves, the piano) things. Don????????t be afraid of getting rid of this “interior rubbish”: many problems will disappear from your life together with unnecessary things.
But we shall leave our favorite things. What about all those things that cast pleasant memoirs and connected with any events, presented by the favorite person? Perhaps, it is necessary just to change something? For example, it is possible to replace upholstery of a cozy sofa or to buy a new cape for an armchair or beds.
It is possible to recolor or restore the old grandmother????????s locker. Children’s pictures, photos can be collected into the exhibition on a wall instead of the bothered carpet or a picture. Even that we store from sentimentality - cards, charms, dry flowers, different trifles, can be issued in uniform frame and hung up on a wall. Such details, created by the hands and imagination, will transform our house, add individualities, character. We are sure that you will feel comfortable in the house which corresponds to your mood and temperament, storing history of your family.

6 factors influencing the real-estate renting market

February 12th, 2007

The first factor: seasonal prevalence
Splashes in demand for renting traditionally occur in September, when the business season and new academic year begin, and employees, travelers and students search for a short-term or long-term accommodation.
The second factor: tourism
Visiting of city and sightseeing is a hobby of all tourists. Therefore it is no wonder, that the offer in a segment of short-term rent is guided just by this contingent of clients and it is considered as the most profitable area of the renting market. At the height of a tourist season the price for rent can increase in two and more times. Besides, even under such price it will not be easy to find something suitable. In this case the so-known “by the day” rent (due to rather low prices and/or convenient location) becomes even more attractive for tourists.
The third factor: a site
In the market of short-term rent the apartments in the center are appreciated on the order above the apartments located in sleeping areas. Many companies working in this segment of the market are not engaged in sleeping areas apartments renting because of low demand for such areas.
The fourth factor: comfort
If the apartments of an economy class are rented with the minimal set of convenience (there can be a furniture and phone) more comfortable habitation, certainly, gets to the leaser in the repaired kind, equipped by home appliances and arranged by furniture. As to preferences of the tenant, it is necessary to note, that the presence of phone became not so important due to the cellular communication. Thus, washing machines are much more necessary.
The fifth factor: the slipping mortgage
The difficulties concerning the mortgage, dictated both by the fast rise in prices on apartments, and complexity of reception of the credit, induce people to consider rent as the powerful competitor to purchase under the hypothec credit. Really, if, for example, rent of a one-room apartment manages $350-500 (depending on area and comfort) monthly payments under the mortgage for the same apartment will reach $1000-1500 a month. Thus there is no necessity to accumulate an initial payment and to collect information for bank.
The sixth factor: competition
The number of the leased apartments increases every year. Thus owners of apartments will try to improve their quality - both due to the repair, and due to installation of home appliances. The refrigerator and the TV cease to be a necessary service minimum. The competition is to bring more advantages to the potential renters.

Modern step-ladders

February 11th, 2007

Ladder and step-ladder are two greater differences. Ladders may be of various kinds and they differ from step-ladders by the fact that they refer to “added”. Ladders are being put to wall - otherwise it will be impossible to get on it. Step-ladders stand independently. And, as experts say that, step-ladders may with bilateral and unilateral climbing.
Bilateral climbing occurs when steps are located from both parties of the step-ladder.
Except for steps, the step-ladder is still equipped with racks. The step-ladder has also legs (on which the step-ladder stands) and hand-rail (it is not obligatory).
The height of a step-ladder is defined by last step or platform. The distance between steps is, as a rule, about 22-25 centimeters. Usually step-ladders have five or six steps - having raised on its top platform it is possible not only to hang up curtains, but also to touch ceiling. Of course, some step-ladders are quite higher - sometimes they have even seven or even eight steps.
The universal step-ladder can be both a step-ladder, and a ladder, depending on owner????????s desire. It consists of two-three sections and each section consists of 6-8 steps. Putting forward section one after another -as a telescope (not without reason such step-ladders name still telescopic)- it is possible to construct quite high ladder. Junctions of sections are fixed by special hooks or automatic clamps. However, universal step-ladders may be not only telescopic, but also simply folding: when sections are not put forward one after another.

Secrets of successful shopping center interior

February 10th, 2007

The world has changed and we have changed too
Today we became choosy and an ideal place for purchases is our natural requirement. And new shopping centers opening almost every month put us before a choice: where to go shopping so that the place was cheerful, pleasant, and not far from the house?
The atmosphere of shopping center created by sound registration, color scores and illumination, alongside with the professional concept create additional comfort for visitors which influences loyalty of buyers and their desire to pass more time in the shopping center.
Honestly speaking, the competition is amplifying, and factors on which we did not reflect earlier (color, light, a sound and even smells) now act as an advantage in fighting for the buyer.
Gentle light and sweet aroma
Illumination is the key moment of shopping center interior. There should not be blacked out zones in a trading hall. All goods should be “presented on the face”, the advantages of the products should be favorably underlined by additional illumination. Lighting devices should not settle down too highly. And, certainly, illumination should not be aggressive, persuasive, distracting the visitor from - we shall face the truth - its basic function: purchases.
Smells play the last, but not the least role in shopping center interior and it is especially important that they did not irritate, and, on the contrary, caused positive emotions among the buyers. So, the smell of citrus, being bright enough, causes the least irritation and very well associates with New Year’s holidays.
Music
Sound registration of shopping center is also very important. In this question, certainly, it is better to keep to the “golden balance”. The excessive sound overload of some advertising messages is not welcomed, as in such cases buyers will often ignore these messages, “to be disconnected”, and thus will not hear a really important message (for example, about loss of documents).
At a choice of music underneath it is necessary to adhere to following rules: music should accompany, move to purchase, create mood, should not be too loud, irritate with discrepancy of musical style and the offered goods. For stimulation of purchases it is better to use the certain music causing association with action which will be made with the bought thing. So, in sports shop music should be loud and rhythmical, in shop of bed-clothes - relaxing or romantic melodies would be highly appreciated.
Our mistakes
Unfortunately, the declared concept of shopping center is not always adequately embodied in the concrete design decision and does not coincide with target audience. So, for example, the shopping centers focused on a youth audience, are often mistakenly executed in strict classical style etc. So, we advise you to be in harmony with your future buyers! Good Luck!

How aquariums influence on the style of the house

February 9th, 2007

The house aquarium can be floor, built in, dioramic, pendant. Each variant has its advantages and its lacks. But any aquarium needs to be placed so that it has been limited in illumination by direct solar beams (no more than 2 hours a day). It at all does not mean, that the “house” of small fish????????s should not be put near the window - simply in this case it is necessary to hold a window curtained off for a part of day, that is not always convenient.
The floor aquarium is the most widespread variant because of comparative simplicity of a design and convenience in service. The complex includes capacity from a transparent material for water, a support and a cover-fixture. By the way, such aquarium should not always represent a correct parallelepiped - sharp corners and rounding off are also possible. Models of 500-600 liters in volume should be established on strong curbstones inside of which all equipment and dry forage for fishes can be hidden.
The support may be opened or closed - it is necessary to consider stylistics of an interior. If there is a lot of tree in a room then a curbstone also should be made of tree or in tone of furniture or doors. We advise to use aluminum and glass, smooth surfaces with illumination in avant-garde interiors. In the bathroom it is possible to revet a curbstone with ceramic tile or ceramoplastics.
The built in aquarium can be a part of a niche or an interroom partition, therefore its depth usually does not exceed 350 mm, and its width quite often reaches 3 meters. Such object is equally elegantly looks in two, divided by it, premises, sometimes carrying out a function of a night-lamp. It is much more difficult to mount a similar design and to look after it, than in it was in the first case. You should also remember that such aquarium requires much more space.
The aquarium-diorama represents a mix of two previous variants - with that only a difference, that its forward wall is concave with small radius of curvature. As a result the observer has a sensation of “immersing” in the underwater world. According to designers, it is very difficult and very expensive to make and establish such design (either in floor, or in the built in variant), but the visual effect will surpass even the most courageous expectations.
The pendant aquarium allows saving a place, but, naturally, is limited by requirements on weight (more often up to 100 kg) and to the sizes. Its version enjoying recently by the big popularity, is a “picture” aquarium. It is named so because it has a depth of no more than 18 centimeters, and the specific glass is usually framed by a baguette.
If you want to buy the aquarium, we advise you to discuss such questions with the designer as aquariums influence not so much on the borrowed area of the room, but on the quality of external perception of a piece of a underwater empire, stability of the biological balance, the spent electric power, quantity of small fishes etc.
