Dining table (Part 2)

June 17th, 2007

Chairs
Chairs can have firm or soft sitting, a straight line or writhed back - designs can differ essentially. The main thing is that the chair was convenient and functional. Sometimes chairs are replaced with strict high armchairs with armrests. They can be completely upholstered with a clap. High chairs in a fabric of white or deep dark blue color look festively and stylishly in combination with a glass rounded corners table.
Table
As we not ancient Romans, who used to have a dream during a meal or a friendly chat, we can????????t do without dining table. It can have any form: round or oval (such table is better to be placed in the center of a room), rectangular or square - up to your choice. The main thing is that it should be steady enough. If you invite the visitors to your house, there must be a place for everyone. The Sliding table will help to solve this problem. Inside of it a small bar, which, if necessary rises on a level of a table by means of the special mechanism, may be applied.
If the place allows, you can decorate a room with a small little table: serving trolley, finishing coffee or journal table. It will not only decorate dining room, but it will also render you the invaluable help at guests???????? reception. It can be the Chinese little table from the polished tree or octahedral, reproducing forms of the traditional Muslim architecture, covered by magnificent ornament in groove, list or incrustation techniques. Put some floor pillows in east style the table. Especially fashionable today little tables - from the tempered glass on legs-supports in the form of the stylized figures of animals- may be also used. In some models legs are moulded from clay and are covered with glaze.

Dining table (Part 1)

June 16th, 2007

It is not important, where the dining table is exactly settled down- in a cozy corner of kitchen or in a separate room. The main thing is that it gathers your relatives and friends, whether it is an easy breakfast, a Sunday dinner or evening tea. Therefore let the interior of your dining room be comfortable for each member of family.
Sitting room - dining room
In spacious houses the separate room can be allocated under a dining room. In the beginning try to be defined with style of a premise, to consider it in the???? complex of room sizes and the form of your room, to coordinate it with a decor of windows and walls registration. The interior of a dining room includes an abundance of decorative elements, such as various vases, utensils, pictures and floor hours. You can stop the sight at modern designs; choose classical set in English style or furniture, rich with a decor in rococo style…
If the separate room under a dining room is not allocated, its style usually corresponds to style of those premises “inside of” which it is. Often lunch zone is stipulated in a sitting room. Its area should be equal to the area of a table with completely put forward chairs. The dining room is separated from a zone of rest by means of decorative partitions, arches or contrast color scores. For this purpose pictures or photos, a bookcase, a mirror, a wooden lattice with twisted plants may be used.
Division is often carried out on a floor level. For example, the lunch group and a bar can be raised on a podium and are brightly shined, but it is necessary to us to go down on pair of steps as we shall get in absolutely other world, where in soft light cozy a deep sofa, a coffee table, book shelves, the TV are located. At overlapping zones it is necessary to think over and create vacation spot and entertainments of visitors as much as possible. Therefore in an interior of sitting room collections of souvenirs, photos, pictures or the hunting trophies should be located near to upholstered furniture and the piano may be placed near the TV.

Artificial stone (Part 3)

June 15th, 2007

Facing by artificial stone is perfectly combined with traditional wooden surfaces of walls (the log, a bar), as it effectively contrasts with smoothly plastered areas. On one facade a composition from the sites, simulating different geological breeds, stones the processed and wild, light and dark, large boulders and stones, will look good.
The artificial stone is well combined with wrought iron handrail of ladders and balconies, with the fixed on the facade lanterns. It perfectly approaches for columns, grottoes and rock gardens. It is good for furnish of garages, fireplaces and chimney pipes. It is applied in interiors of bars, restaurants, game halls, billiard, discos, etc. At use of a stone in premises with high humidity and in pools (bathrooms) at long contact to water (especially chlorinated) its painting should be less bright, however, it is necessary to cover a stone with a special waterproof solution - and it is possible not to worry about its safety.
It is worth of mentioning that color of “just made” artificial stone is finally established only in 1-2 months after gluing a tile on a wall. But then it does not vary any more. Therefore do not be frightened with some difference in tone between exhibition samples and just the bought party of the goods.
Facing works with an artificial stone start with:
- Drawings a thin layer of a solution on a grid, fixed on the wall;
- Stone processing (if it is necessary for the best adjustment);
- Drawings a layer of a solution by thickness of 1,5 cm on the stone;
- Angular elements installations;
- Flat elements installations;
- Fillings seams with a cement mortal;
- Alignments of seams;
- Cleanings seams.
The basic advantages of an artificial stone rely in its decorative effect, ease, relative cheapness and simplicity of stacking at insignificant labor expenditures.

Artificial stone (Part 2)

June 13th, 2007

There are two ways of artificial stone installation - with seams and seamless. In the first case stones are fasten on the distance of 1,5 - 2,5 cm from each other. This variant is more widespread, since it significantly saves a facing material at insignificant increase of labor expenditures. Some models of stones require only a seamless method therefore they densely adjoin to each other. The solution is put on a back surface of a product; surpluses are cleaned with special brush. The decorative stone is easy in cut, therefore at desire it is possible to modify its form.
One more important feature of a decorative stone relies in its universality. It is established on various kinds of surfaces - wooden, metal, brick, concrete, used both for external, and for internal works. Such stone does not burn and does not allocate a smoke at heating; therefore it can be applied for decorating fireplaces and furnaces. However, it is not necessary to use it for decorating fireplaces or the details subject to influence of heats. Owing to that all weight of a stone becomes impregnated with dyes, it does not grow bare and behaves the same as natural stone at contact with environment.
Unlike natural, the artificial material has no radioactive background. Its durability and durability coincide with properties of natural stone and its frost resistance deviates from 100 up to 150 cycles. It can be easier than the natural prototype in 3-4 times. The walls of a building not only become attractive after their decorating with artificial stone, but they also receive additional protection against moisture and mechanical damages. Thus thermal resistance of a wall increases on 25 % and the house becomes warmer and cozy.

Artificial stone (Part 1)

June 12th, 2007

Stone - is one of the first natural materials, used by people for construction. Building technologies have removed it on the second plan. Now it is applied, basically, for finishing and repair works. But not everyone presumes to revet a wall of the house with artificial stone, as it expensive and demands labor-consuming additional works on strengthening a surface of walls and stone preparation.
However, the human ingenuity has no limits. Now there is an alternative - the manufacturing techniques of an artificial stone are developed. The name “an artificial stone” concerns more likely to its origin, than to appearance. It is almost impossible to distinguish natural stone from artificial one and only an experienced expert can do this only from very close distance - modern technologies allow to simulate that both the form, and color, and a structure of a natural material. The following material serve as its main components: cement of the highest marks (Portland cement), easy natural filling materials (expanded clay) and natural high-quality dyes.
Now, let????????s have some words about process of decorative stones manufacturing. The mix from all components is filled in special forms, one of which repeats the form of a natural stone, and another one - is absolutely flat. Original “Easter cake” on an equal surface as a result turns out. Its area deviates from 5 cm???? up to 0,5 m????, and thickness - from 1 up to 10 cm. Owing to such form the artificial stone is very simple in installation. First of all, it is a three times lighter natural (depending on a kind of a product the weight of 1 m???? makes from 20 up to 45 kg), therefore it is not required to strengthen a wall special with iron armature. Secondly, as the stone it has a smooth back surface and it is not necessary “to warm” a wall (as volumetric natural). It well lays down practically on any surface and fastens by means of a usual cement mortal with addition of glutinous structure, that can be done independently and no any special skills are required.

Computer furniture (Part 2)

June 11th, 2007

Secondly, the computer furniture should be established so that it was comfortable and safe to work there. For this purpose it is necessary to choose correctly height of a table-top. The best variant here would be to adjust it within the limits of 680-800 mm. If you don????????t have such opportunity, we recommend you to choose tables in height of 725 mm (under the American standards - 740 mm). Adjust height of a chair so that the legs were placed under a table with comfort and did not become numb (free space for legs should be not less than 60 cm in height, 50 cm in width and 65 cm in depth). Put the monitor on distance of 60-70 cm from eyes. Position of the screen is considered correct if it stands vertically or is rejected from a vertical back on a corner 5-7 degrees. The level of eyes should be on the center of the screen or at the height equal of 2/3 distances from the bottom border up to the center.
For accomplishing these requirements, some manufacturers of computer tables equip them with their special monitor and shelves-supports adjustable on height. Such shelf is especially necessary if you deal with the monitor of the small size (15 inches diagonal). The keyboard should be placed far away from the edge of a table-top so that brushes of hands did not hang in air as it can lead to a chronic stretching of brushes. Well and at last, take care of that nothing could distract your attention. It is not necessary to place the bright or bright subjects near to a table, which may create patches of light on the screen of the monitor.

Computer furniture (Part 1)

June 10th, 2007

Computer has not only strongly expanded opportunities of people, but it has also generated new trades and has forced to rethink the organization of manufacture. It has affected lives of many people. The number of the people, preferring to work at home, is steadily growing. How has their life changed? And what place in new vital way is allocated to a computer? So, it is a high time to talk about computer furniture.
Pleasant and useful
What makes house workplace attractive? It appears that the habitual cozy atmosphere is capable not only to relax, but also to promote the maximal concentration, and thus, to create a necessary emotional spirit as it a convenient armchair, strong coffee and a favorite melody do.
Having conceived to equip the computerized working corner in the house, we frequently pay attention only directly to a computer - its characteristics and the size of the monitor. A question “where to put?” and what computer furniture to choose is solved, as a rule, hastily - if only any computer table was in the house. And in fact computer is bough not “just for decoration”, the majority of users daily spend several hours behind it. Half a year of intensive work, and the person inevitably earns a chronic headache, spoils a bearing, sight… and what to do with children, who are ready to master such marvelous modern “toy” excitedly at any time?
Scientists, referring to results of sad statistics of diseases, have already for a long time repeated that the workplace, equipped with computer, requires the special organization.????
First of all, do not forget, that the principle “the more the merrier” does not work in this case, - computer furniture requires at least six square meters of a floor space, and correct illumination of working place should be provided. Fix light sources at the left of the computer - the same as for reading and writing. Take care, that light was not too bright: hang up curtains on windows and put lamp shade on the lamp.

Interroom doors

June 9th, 2007

There are 4 types of doors: deciduous, coniferous, combined and “not wooden” in general, that is made of “artificial” materials.
To the first, most expensive wood category, doors from a file of an oak, a beech, a maple, mahogany belong. Deciduous wood differs from other breeds not only the natural uniqueness and beauty, but also by higher durability. Therefore such doors are the most expensive. For example, doors from a file of an oak cost from 400 up to 1000 dollars.
The second group represents doors from a file of a pine; the price is from 100 up to 350 dollars.
The third group is represented with doors from the combined materials. They are made of several components:???? pine file, FDF (finely divided fraction - a fiber of average density) and WSP (wood-shaving plate) and are pasted over with veneer of valuable breeds of a tree. The price can vary from 50 up to 1000 dollars.
And at last, the fourth group is represented with “not wooden” doors from WSP, FDF, etc.; the price starts from 50 dollars.
However the price of a door is defined not only by value of a material or quality of wood, but also - by the design. If the door is decorated by carved panels (a panel - a thin board or the plywood inserted into a doorframe), the mirror or glass inserts, expensive accessories (the handle, the lock, a clamp) the price for the combined door from veneer nut can be compared even with cost of a file.
Today pine is the most widespread material for today. It is cheaper than similar doors from an oak. It is also considered that it possesses high durability.

Multilevel ceiling (Part 2)

June 8th, 2007

Zoning. In a context of the modern house such question, as allocation of separate zones, is also important. In a special measure it is actual for the dwellings of the new type equipped as open flowing spaces, making uniform plastic structure.
Everyone knows that designers and architects have entered new system instead of former square-cluster system with narrow corridors instead of former square-cluster system with narrow corridors. this new system has two basic zones: public and private. Each of them unites different mini-zones - places for food reception, rest and work. It requires greater logicality of the organization of space, greater isolation of each mini-zone. In the room, where there are practically no walls, functional zones start to be emphasized by furnish of a floor, walls, illumination and, certainly, levels of a ceiling. For example, having lifted a head, we can see an oval repeating an oval of a dining table in a table zone. Or the bath allocated somehow differently, a bed, a winter garden, a bar rack, even “road” from one zone to another. Usually multilevel ceilings “are supported” by a floor. It can be a podium, application of different materials for a floor covering or one material - the only peculiarity is that the colors should be different (for example, parquet and a tile, a parquet of two shades).
Even if behind there is nothing to hide a multilevel ceiling, it is regarded as a special interior style. Forms of such designs are quite diversified: classical geometry, fantastic forms, combinations of a curve and a triangle. It can be a stucco moulding and simply abstract compositions. Imitation of constructive elements in a classical interior - is one of multilevel ceiling versions.

Multilevel ceiling (Part 1)

June 6th, 2007

Today the hobby for the multilevel ceilings, which have captured all architects and designers several years ago, engaged by furnish of apartments, has, fortunately, gone to past. Nevertheless this method cannot be considered as an attribute of nasty taste. On the contrary, it helps to solve many aesthetic and technical problems. Designs have been compromised only by excessive hobby for them. Today return tendency has finally prevailed: the most stylish interiors are solved without use of levels above. Today they are applied with careful study of figure by way of planning and exact calculations of height of a design. Multilevel ceilings have always been the element of premises of public purpose, than the objects of private habitation. So popular and widespread - such ceilings have been made with occurrence in the market of tension ceilings and gypsum cardboard. These “flexible” technologies are rather cheap and have practically no restrictions on configurations.
Roughness and defects of a base ceiling can become a good reason for application of several levels. At times these differences are so great, that it is almost impossible to hide them in any other ways. For example, the state of old overlapping between floors condition is usually quite poor. After dismantle of old partitions inappropriate beams and crossbars are found out.
Sometimes within the limits of an apartment it is necessary to hide central airs, electro postings, air lines, pipes of water supply, heating etc.
