Amalgamators (Part 3)

Choosing the amalgamator, the special attention should be paid to one of the major details – gate valve. If it is not so much important for amalgamators with crane-axle boxes as their working capacity is defined by a degree of deterioration of a sealant (i.e. linings) at spherical amalgamators term of operation is defined by reliability and durability of the gate valve. In most cases this detail is made of metal and ceramics, steady to use and chemical influences. Much less often the design represents a hollow sphere or a disk from high-quality stainless steel. Similar amalgamators do not suffer fast deterioration of condensing linings, but they are very sensitive to the dissolved in water salts and especially – to dirt. And as adjustment of elements is very prompt, even a hit of a mote may cause malfunction.
It is the most difficult to classify amalgamators on quality as the quantity of production, presented in the market, cannot be studied perfectly and almost every month new companies represent their production. Nevertheless, there are the manufacturers, managed to prove the superiority and to fix leadership.
Among the European companies the first place, undoubtedly, belongs to German concern HANSGROHE (Germany) and to its elite brands Axor and Pharo. The products, which have been released under these trade marks, are quite expensive, but many people have already managed to estimate their high characteristics and original design. Besides on all production HANSGROHE gives a long-term guarantee.
The Italian amalgamators on quality frequently concede to German and Finnish (ORAS), but they surpass them in design and assortment. And the disorder of the prices for them is wide. Among expensive and qualitative amalgamators it is possible to name GESSI and FIR, more accessible at the price of – SOL, FIORE, and FRISONE S.R.L.
If you all the same decide to get cheaper amalgamator of other country-manufacturer, it will not mean catastrophic decrease in quality. A number of firms, such as ELIU ?????OET (Spain), HANSA, JADO, DM (Germany), DELTA FAUCET (USA) produce sound and reliable models and give a long guarantee for their production.



Amalgamators (Part 2)

Valve amalgamators are a little bit cheaper than spherical, but they are not so convenient in use and require regular sealants change. But they can be repaired easily, and they are well adapted for any conditions – the rigid chlorinated water. Spherical amalgamators badly transfer firm particles and the salts, dissolved in water, and consequently quickly get broken. In order to repair them, it is necessary to replace completely not too cheap spherical module. However, it is possible to prevent fast (only 4-5 years) fail, having established filters of water treating.
Less often two mentioned above designs are used at cranes with thermostat and pressure equalizer. Two handles are located on each side of such amalgamator, one of which supervises water pressure and the second one, which has a special label, – temperature. In order to receive comfortable temperature, it is necessary to combine only a label of the handle with the necessary figure – and the desirable temperature of water is gained. However, according to experts, such “miracle” is made not always. The matter is that amalgamators with thermostat ?????are not calculated on the changeable water pressure and bad quality of water. Imperfection of water supply system leads to frequent breakages and even failure of such designs.
For today it is possible to consider as the most exotic models are those with a photo cell and touch management. In a design of such amalgamator the lever, which is disconnecting water, is absent, and on the case there is a small screen behind which the infra-red gauge of constant radiation, which is regulating movement of hands, is established. As soon as hands get in an operative range of a beam, it transfers a signal to the device, which supplies water.

Today the market of the sanitary equipment is oversaturated with various on color, the form, functional features, the price and many other parameters amalgamators. No wonder, that the unsophisticated consumer may be easily got lost among the untwisted brands, often relying at a choice of product, which is so much required for any bathroom.
However, there are a lot of technical parameters which are necessary for considering, when you are buying the amalgamator. These are operational characteristics and design.
According to the constructional features all the amalgamators can be divided into several types. Valve amalgamator with two crane-axle boxes (the handles adjusting receipt of hot and cold water) is the most popular type of amalgamators. This model is familiar to any consumer as it is one of the “simplest” models.
The second type, which has become especially popular today, is monocommand amalgamator (in another way – one-armed) cranes. This is an amalgamator with the spherical mechanism, in which the pressure of water and its temperature are adjusted by movement upwards-downwards and to the left-to the right with one handle.

At creation of a bowl the form and the sizes of the future reservoir is defined. Various materials are being used depending on features of a site and type of a reservoir.
If there is clay the waterproof bowl can be made of it. But, despite of availability of a material, ramming of clay is a quite labor-consuming process. Besides in due course roots of plants sprout in a clay layer, destroying it.
Expenses for construction of a bowl from concrete are high, but are not always justified, especially if the prospective reservoir will borrow the small area. Concrete bowls are usually made for greater ponds of geometrical forms. It is more complex to make bowls of the wrong form. And very seldom this material is used as a box for a stream or the cascade.
Ease of installation, durability, and rather low price concern to advantages of ready plastic forms. The basic lack consists in already made forms and small depth (on the average – about 60 cm). The bowl of the future reservoir can be made of fiberglass. For this purpose dredging is being made in a ground, and then it is being covered with fiber glass and filled in with polyester pitch. Essential advantages of a similar design rely in absolute freedom in a choice of the form and the structure and high durability. However, the cost of a bowl from fiberglass is quite high. Besides for the period of hardening pitch dry weather is required.
Pump is the basic element of reservoir technical system. For example, it takes away water from the bottom pool and lifts in top in the cascade. In a pond the pump creates movement of water and sates it with oxygen.
At a choice of the pump it is necessary to remember that fragments of plants get into the open reservoir and silt is being formed at the bottom. Therefore usually use two types of pumps: or special pond pumps created for work in conditions of an artificial reservoir, or drainage, calculated on swapping of???????? soft-polluted liquids. Working elements of pumps of both types are made of high-strength stainless steel or composite materials. The electric part is reliably isolated by special pitch condensation so that it is possible to arrange pump right in the reservoir.

Artificial reservoirs, as a rule, are filled with water from house system of water supply, which is already cleared for household needs. If your pond is intended for swimming, disinfecting of water will be required. In general, there are two ways of water clarification: chlorination and ionization. The first way is more cheaply and more effectively, the second one – is more ecological and it also allows to get rid of a unpleasant smell of chlorine. Disinfecting devices are intended for processing of a plenty of water. It is worth of mentioning that, the separate premise and connection to the electric system is required for their installation. Therefore it is meaningful to use them only in greater deep ponds and pools.
As water in systems of artificial reservoirs circulates on a vicious circle, it is necessary to fill them only once for a season, and then – just to add it, compensating evaporation. It is possible to do this manually or by means of the automatic device, supplied with electronic or simple float gauge, defining the water level.
Besides, it is necessary to consider an opportunity of pluming of water from a reservoir in the winter. It is not obligatory for the pond of more than 0,8 m depth, and in case of fine reservoirs, it is necessary to remember that, here the water freezes through to the bottom and can damage the bowl.
